In recent Expendables 4 news, Arnold Schwarzenegger told his friend, Stallone, that he should do another Expendables movie. Perhaps Arnold has way too much fun on these films while being paid a ridiculous amount of money so why not star in a few more. The Expendables movies are a ton of fun so we welcome more sequels. Kellan Lutz of Expendables 3 just spoke to TheArnoldFans about his hopeful sequel!

TheArnoldFans: Kellan, What's your best Schwarzenegger story and would you like to be in Expendables 4?

Kellan Lutz: "Yes! I wanna be in every Expendables movie! That franchise is just me to a T.  Favorite Arnold moment - when we're all in the Helicopter in Expendables 3 and Arnold was just saying BARNEY, GET TO THE CHOPPA!"

TheArnoldFans: Who do YOU think would make great villains in the sequel?

Kellan Lutz: Villians: I heard that Hulk Hogan was in talks & I think that would be BRILLIANT! I'm a huge fan & that would be freakin' awesome. would cool to see Benicio de Toro, Mike Meyers, Eddie Murphy would be interesting. Just thinking way outside the box. Would even be cool to see Sigourney Weaver!

Sigourney Weaver would be good! Wasn't Stallone going to do an all female cast called The Expendabelles? When we had an opportunity to speak with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, we suggested she might be a nice fit for this or the TV series.

TheArnoldFans: Pamela, There's talk of an Expendables all-female-cast movie or TV series in the works. Would you make a good Expendables action hero?

Pamela Anderson: "Sure! Hahaha!"

TheArnoldFans:
What do you do to stay in shape?

Pamela Anderson: "I don't exercise a lot. But I walk a lot. You know? I walk on the beach, or go for hikes with my girlfriends or my dogs. I'm not a big workout person. I thin your diet is very important. I'm vegan. And just having an active life. But I don't go to a gym. I walk on a treadmill if I can't get outside."

TheArnoldFans: Hi David, What do you do to stay in shape? What exercises do you do? How often do you hit the gym and were guys like Sly and Schwarzenegger fitness role models for you?

Hasselhoff: "You know, I know them personally, and I have to tell ya, both of them are really good guys on a personal level. I spend as much time as I can each day devoted to working out - whether it's just 20 minute of cardio, or lifting weights, or I do a lot of bike riding now, a lot of hiking. The key is consistency, and I think 90% of staying in shape is diet. And if you adhere to a decent diet, you can still go off and have a McDonald's ice cream once in a while, and not show it. But it's consistency."

TheArnoldFans: David, do you go to the movies much? Terminator 5 is coming this summer...Are you a Terminator fan and would you make a good Hoffinator?

Hasselhoff: "I'd make a great Hoffinator. I'm more of a fan of movies like AMERICAN SNIPER than I am of TERMINATOR or STAR WARS. I am planning on releasing my own animated show soon. And you'll be hearing about that. It's quite exciting. And I'm actually sitting in the studios right now - when I took a break from meeting with my supervising producers and writers to talk to you guys!"

TheArnoldFans: Pamela, David Hasselhoff told me he'd make a great Terminator in an Arnold film...do you agree and would YOU TOO make a great Terminator? Would you play a better nice terminator or an evil one?

Pamela Anderson: "I don't think David would make a very good Terminator, hahaha! And to be a Terminator, you'd have to be quite evil... right?"

Exclusive Interview with The Terminator’s Tommy Estridge!

With so much excitement building for the newTerminator film, let’s revisit the film that started it all. Terminator Genisys will surely have some amazing weaponry but let’s look back at TheTerminator’s weapons! TheArnoldFans had a sit down interview with T1’s prop manager, Tommy Estridge, who not only gave Arnold some of his first gun-firing lessons, he was also responsible for some of cinema’s most iconic weaponry!

Tommy Estridge: The property master’s in charge of all the stuff that actors actually use on the set. So like, watches, badges, the gun belts, name tags, the weapons and all that, everything – I’m in charge of all that. Safety, as it comes in regard to weapons, making sure that they don’t hurt themselves or hurt other actors or hurt the crew. That’s our thing.

TheArnoldFans: What was your favorite weapon or prop that you personally handled that you wish you were able to keep?

Tommy Estridge: It would have to be the SPAS-12, the shotgun. It had just come out. It had been used for the movie and I’d seen some pictures of it, and it looked different from anything else that was available. Then I wanted the AR-18 because they had the folding stock and everything. Trouble was, no one had ever converted a full auto one to fire blanks, and it was a nightmare! I mean, sometimes, I’d be lucky to get off a BAM BAM, you know, all the ammo in there and it’d just jam.

TheArnoldFans: You have some great behind-the-scene pictures. How many pictures roughly were you taking. It looks like you did take quite a few.

Tommy Estridge: Not really that many. Most of the ones I took were Tech Noir and I was taking them for the production designer. He got me into the business years before that and I was just getting some shots of that. Also, for Coca Cola, they were promo things and getting them different shots of Coke signage and everything around there. And then, a few others when I had the time. I was there with my camera for the exploding tanker but most of them I was too busy to take pictures. I was just workin’ my ass off. Yeah, I didn’t have a lot of time to do much photography.

TheArnoldFans: What were some of your best experiences or what was the most fun thing you can recall from being on that set?

Tommy Estridge: We were at the police station; this that was after we had shot the future fight. And we’re at a steel abandoned plant, and it was an office building. It’s late at night, everybody’s tired, and we were get a little silly. I pulled the fire alarm. I didn’t know it was working because I figured it was something that the art department had built. It was blaring and we all had to stop and turn the damned thing off.

TheArnoldFans: What did James Cameron think of that?

Tommy Estridge: I mean, he wasn’t happy about it but it didn’t take that long to turn it off.

Tommy Estridge: The other thing is when Arnold was raiding the police station, he had the SPAS-12 and he was holding it out like this but it was very heavy and after so many takes he couldn’t fire it that way. So I rigged it so it would wrap around his wrist here, so he’s not really holding it this hard way so even I could pick it up. Because you’re holding the very back. It Was also a way, when we had to reload, he could just drop the gun and dangle there so they could switch magazines, so you had a double benefit. Another thing - in the police station, the concussion blew out some of the ceiling panels. They were dropping from the ceiling. He yelled Cut!

TheArnoldFans: Tell me about the laser gun.

Tommy Estridge: The laser on it wasn’t self-contained. There’s a wire coming out which came out the butt of the gun and had a little plug on it. We cut a hole in his glove he was wearing here and run a wire up here through the back so what I would have to do was turn thing on and stand behind him with the battery pack and at a certain point, I would hit the button and the laser would come on.

TheArnoldFans: So you’re the laser man!

Tommy Estridge: Right! And I remember it had to be grounded a certain way but he would do it totally professional. He would just sit there and wait to do what he had to do. In the case of the 45 long slide, with the laser, that was a last minute thing deciding that you want to do that. And I tracked down a place called Laser Products in Orange County and explained what I wanted to do, I drove down there and took two 45s with me and I talked to the president of the company, told him what was wanted and everything, and he worked with me to design, to figure out what we could do. So one of them was that it was just a dummy laser. That was one we did everything with. The other one had real lasers on it, because in early days, they were putting lasers on guns. It was very big and it had a battery, so they rigged up this whole thing. Fortunately, we didn’t need the laser gun that soon - I think it was two or three days later. I had to rig it and drive it back over there again, pick it up. That’s the tricky thing: timing.

TheArnoldFans: Did the laser ever not work?

Tommy Estridge: The laser sometimes didn’t work. The 45 always worked. That was a good one, although again, that was a crazy thing. Generally, when you see, or at least in that time, when you saw 45s being used, it was actually a 9 millimeter. It was on the same frame and everybody used the same 9 millimeter blanks, for no matter what it was. But because we wanted that 45 long slider, it was only available in 45 caliber. The prop house house got it, and they got it to work by using a blank space from a machine gun which was quite powerful. So you didn’t have a lot of time to stand around with it. It worked fine.

TheArnoldFans: What about where Franco Colombu as the Terminator comes in, and he’s got that gun? Did you get to play with that?

Tommy Estridge: Well, that was the special effects gun. That wasn’t actually a machine gun. It was something that the guys made up; It had gas. It had propane tubes behind an igniter, and it would make the effect. So it was really more of a special effects thing.

TheArnoldFans: We saw a great picture that you took, it was of Franco and Cameron, all holding the guns. Can you tell me about that day and what was going on.

Tommy Estridge: Okay, one thing I always tried to do when there was a big amount of weapons involved in the shoot, I take the directors and the actors out to a firing range. First, I’ll give them a demonstration, what kind of harm you can get or injury you can get from blanks. People say “oh, it’s a blank” - bullshit! I did a demonstration to show what can happen if you’re not careful, and then let them some fire some blanks and ammunition with the same gun, so they could get a feel for the kick of it. They think it’s same thing, “bang bang bang bang”, but there’s a kick. Your arm really moves!

TheArnoldFans: Did you think Terminator was gonna be a big movie, or a possible B movie? Did you have any faith in it, back in the day?

Tommy Estridge: Well, let me put it this way – that is the only script I ever read that I couldn’t stop reading. I mean, it read like a great science fiction novel.  You know, first off, I just read through the scripts and find out what was happening, then go through it and start making notes about what’s gonna happen. What’s needed, making continuity notes. Then I would try to sit down and have a meeting with the Director, and go through a the script with him. To see if he’s basically in agreement. It’s the director’s movie, and he has to be happy with that. Saying “I think you should have to do that,” We go through all that sort of stuff. It’s about getting the stuff, getting to the prop houses, in some cases, you may have to buy it.

TheArnoldFans: Don’t you just love the way Arnold says “Uzi 9 millimeter”?

Tommy Estridge: Uzi worked with us on this. At the time, the secret service had developed a special shoulder holster for the Uzi, and it was like top secret. We could not show pictures of how it worked or anything. Basically, it had a leather strap and it went around this part of the thing. But at the time, we could not show that. We had to be very careful.

TheArnoldFans: Do you recall what Arnold was like back then? Some say he was a prankster on the set.

Tommy Estridge: No, not that much. He was very serious. I think he regarded this as a chance to somewhat break out of the “Conan” mold. I know, talking to him one time, he was talking how, I forget where he was, but he was going through the whole looking for them [characters Sarah and Reese], he was looking along, and he told me he had on his mind a shark. Swimming along, that was the mental image that he had in his mind.

Tommy Estridge: Most of the time, he was in some heavy makeup that sometimes, he would get made up and then they wouldn’t use him for like, six or eight hours! So he would just stay in his trailer, so he didn’t want to mess stuff up. Because if he started horsing around, they’d have to redo it. He was very easy to work with.

Thanks to the fantastic people at Paramount Pictures, TheArnoldFans has been given the opportunity to premiere this exclusive clip of Arnold Schwarzenegger discussing his “Guardian" role in Terminator Genisys! Check out these cool new scenes in this studio-approved featurette. Noticeable new ballsiness within this clip includes the T-800 breaking through the police station glass, slamming Skynet’s biggest threat into a vehicle and dealing with a mysterious endoskeleton.

After watching this clip, we can see why James Cameron loves Terminator Genisys so much! We’ve recently seen the featurette with Cameron saying fans will love Genisys but Schwarzenegger also recently confirmed Cameron’s admiration for the film.
Schwarzenegger: "Even James Cameron, who didn't direct the movie but it was his original idea to do the movie, called me right after he saw it, which was just last week, and said 'Arnold, this is fantastic, it's a straight ten!' To hear this from James Cameron is really great. He's a good friend of mine, so he would not tell me a lie about this, he was always very honest about his opinions.”

Judgment day is coming! Terminator Genisys will be released on July 1st in 3D and IMAX but if you check your Fandango listings, you’ll see several showing will begin Tuesday, June 30th at 7pm! If you want more Terminator Genisys exclusive news and interviews, you’ll be back to TheArnoldFans.com!

We Chat with the Writers of Terminator Genisys!

On any red carpet, the stars of the film and other celebrities get the lions' share of attention from the press, and sure, it is cool to see and talk to them, but it's the behind the scenes contributors that often have the more interesting things to say. We love talking to these people and see how the process of getting the film made happened along with what goodies may still be in store for the Blu-ray or future installments. So when we saw the writers of Terminator Genisys walking by, we had to nab them! This writing duo consists of Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. They are not related, but are "best friends" as well as writing partners. Patrick's favorite Terminator film is T1 and Laeta's is T2, so they balanced each other out well in paying homage to both. On the red carpet, we decided to go with the hard hitting question that we knew no one else would ask first.

TheArnoldFans: I love the movie! So, why no sunglasses? Did the producers talk to you about no need for a sunglass scene in the movie?

Laeta: It was never talked about that I can recall.

Patrick: Holy shit!

Laeta: I know! Oh my god!

Patrick: Well, there’s a flashback where you see him with sunglasses, and it was talked about that being one of the only times you see it. Because most of the other times you see him  except for one part, it starts at night and there’s not an opportunity to have that. We gave him a teddy bear instead!

Laeta: Yes, that’s true. He got sunglasses in (T2) right away at night.

TAFs: Did you have, in an early draft, some great action scene that you wish made it in that didn’t make the cut?

Laeta: Oh there’s a list, we always write something that would cost $300 million, that’s what we do! I don’t know if I can pick one! There are so many fun unbelievably expensive and ambitions things that we messed with.

Patrick: Let’s say that when Byung-Hun Lee (T-1000) came back, he did not come back alone. He had reinforcements that made that 1984 sequence so expensive, that it wasn’t filmable at this time.

Laeta: Even bigger, yes yes.

TAFs: Are you aware of anything that was shot, that will make it into the final blu-ray?

Patrick: No actually. All the big action that was shot is in the movie. Very little of the great moments didn’t make it in. Especially Arnold’s moments. Everybody rediscovered that every Arnold moment is pure gold, so it’s like “My god, we just need more Arnold because it’s pure gold!”

Laeta: Yeah, keep adding Arnold!

TAFs: How did you feel about the early reveal in the trailer? Did you feel that was too soon, or were you OK with that?

Patrick: Here’s the nice thing, marketing didn’t tell us how to write the movie, and we didn’t tell them how to market it!

Laeta: Yeah, that’s it. I think we saw it when everybody else did.

During the after-party, we again talked to Patrick Lussier.  This time we mentioned we were fans of the TV series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Very small Genisys spoiler: In the film, a couple of the actors time-travel and when they arrive, the are on a freeway! So we spoke about T:SCC also having a similar scene. Lussier told me that in the original script, it had the character’s time-travel energy sphere appear inside of an upper freeway overpass so there was a little more danger happening there when the nude characters were hanging for life on exposed rebar from the crumbling overpass.

Speaking of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, we mentioned we heard there MAY still be a Terminator TV series in the works and Patrick Lussier MAY have hinted he’d possibly be a writer on this series. But there was a lot of hinting, winks and "we’ll see what happens" in this conversation so nothing is official yet.

One last great tease we got from him was regarding Arnold playing a BAD T-800 again. We mentioned that we (and many fans) think there has been enough of Arnold as good-guy/protector/guardian Terminator and we'd love to see him back as a ruthless killing machine again in possible future films. You can't really count his brief moment in T3 being reprogrammed to kill John Connor by tossing him around and pounding a car to death. Well, Patrick was understandably cagey, as he does have ideas for the next 2 films, but he basically said that we may be getting what we want, but they would save it for a point "when it's the most gut-wrenching." Sounds promising!

Thanks for chatting with us, Patrick and Laeta! What other things would the fans like to see in future Terminator (if they do get made)?

Actor Wayne Bastrup and WWE's Shad Gaspard Red Carpet Interviews!

We continue in our series of Terminator Genisys Red Carpet interviews with actor Wayne Bastrup. It was cool to meet him in person since he had just been on Arnold Radio News the week before. If you didn't catch that, it's episode 29: Don't Bump His Selfie Stick!

Wayne's publicist was drumming up interest with reporters by asking them if they'd like to interview JK Simmons (who was not there), then saying they can have the next best thing since Wayne plays the younger 1984 version of JK Simmons' O'Brien character in the film. When he came up, he was immediately in Gillinator's good graces by remarking that he has an "Arnold-ish look."

TAFs: Have you seen the finished product yet?

Wayne: No, first time, so along with everyone else I’m still a virgin, which is great I’m really looking forward to it.

TAFs: Isn’t this amazing (on the red carpet) with the fire going and everything?

Wayne: It’s mind-blowing! I guess I’m a little shocked at how large it is. I’m just ecstatic that so many people are here, are such fans and come out to see the premiere and watch everybody walk.

TAFs: So this is your biggest movie to date?

Wayne: Yeah, I would say that! As far as blockbuster sci-fi thriller, this is as big as they come.

TAFs: You of course play the younger version of JK Simmons in the movie.

Wayne: Yeah, JK is not here tonight unfortunately. He’s in Prague with his son who plays in the LA Philharmonic apparantly.

TAFs: Can we just call you JK tonight?

Wayne: That’d be fine. You guys can do that, as long as I can just ride on his tailcoats and take some credit… nah I won’t do that!

TAFs: Besides your own scene, what’s the thing you’re looking forward to seeing most tonight?

Wayne: I’m actually really looking forward to seeing the fight between Arnold of today and Arnold of 1984, which I think everyone is looking forward to seeing that. That action sequence where he goes against himself is going to be phenomenal. People keep talking about it, so I can’t wait to see it.

TAFs: You think the buzz is sufficiently good, is it going to be a big hit?

Wayne: I think it is, I mean there’s always detractors of course, but Jurassic World just came out, and it’s what, the highest opening movie of all time in just a week and a half… and that’s a reboot and a retool of the series, and Terminator’s in that similar vein that I think it’s got more excitement behind it, especially with Arnold involved.

TAFs: I agree, I think Jurassic’s the biggest until this weekend, right?

Wayne: Right, it’s 4th of July weekend, so everybody’s gotta come out and see the movie… take some time off and see it in an air conditioned theater.

Unfortunatley, our predictions were quite a bit off, but at least Genisys is dominating worldwide, with $85 million overseas, even if the U.S. box office was disappointing.

Next, we also spoke with former WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard!

TAFs: Let me ask you, is Arnold responsible for your physique, you getting big in the first place?

Shad: I will tell you right now, Arnold’s responsible for my physique, Arnold’s responsible for my personality. He’s the reason I am the way I am and so outgoing. I saw him as a kid in Curaçao- There’s a show they used to put on where Arnold would travel to Brazil and teach people about English and it was a horrible show, but Arnold was just so cool, in a dune buggy riding around with girls, and I was like “I want to be that guy!” Then I saw Conan and then I was done. I was doing push-ups and sit-ups and Arnold’s my hero, my inspiration for everything.

TAFs: What do you think about Arnold being inducted into the wrestling Hall of Fame?

Shad: I think it’s awesome. I’m good friends with Victor Ortiz, and he says when he met Stallone for Expendables, he said “Stallone I want to thank you for boxing.” Stallone said “I’m not a boxer.” He was like “You may not think you’re a boxer, because you’re an actor, but you inspired me to be a better fighter.” When I look at Arnold I say “You might not think you’re a sports entertainer or pro-wrestler, but you inspire me to be entertaining, not just be a meathead with muscles, but to be something intelligent. To actually know I can have muscles I can have brain and I can have talent at the same time, and still take care of my body.” He’s the inspiration for a lot of things, not just one.

Terminator Genisys Box Office Update Gives High Hope for T6!

In just 12 days since its July 1st release date, Terminator Genisys just about hit the 225 Million mark in the worldwide box office.

At this rate, T5 could very likely reach a solid 375 to 450 million final total, nearly doubling or tripling the 155 million film budget. Of course then there’s all the other great revenue of the film to come later including DVD/Blu-ray sales and merchandising. While all of this sounds very promising, it is not yet a solid lock for T6.

Genisys will need to clear a minimum of 375 million worldwide in order for it to be considered a success and it will reach this number providing the awesome Arnold-loving crowds of China get to see it. Many speculate China alone could add an additional 100 million dollars or more to the worldwide box office. By the end of July, China will set its release date. If they get an August release, we may see the T5 earnings stall around the 300 million mark for a few weeks until China can highly necessitate the box office growth.

While Genisys is loved by most fans, the negative critic reviews kept American crowds away. 225 Million in just 12 days is very impressive but sadly only 69 million so far comes from America. I love my country. America is where I live and we are great at just about everything we do. But I must say, I am not happy with how soft we’ve gotten with our sad standards of #1 movies these days. I’m not saying that Genisys is the single best movie this year, but I will say it is better than Jurassic World, Avengers 2 and Minions. Come on America, we’re really going to give a bigger box office to Spy and Pitch Perfect 2 over a TERMINATOR movie!?  Like I said, America is awesome, but boy do we suck at the movie theaters!

Genisys will likely make 100 million in America with another estimated 300 million by international territories. Support Genisys if you want to see a great sic-fi movie with the fate of fantastic sequels! Come on America, stop listening to the critics; Listen to the FANS! Don’t go soft! Put away your cartoons, superheroes and dinosaurs and grow a pair! Get out there and watch a fucking TERMINATOR movie!

Exclusive: Pumpin' & Rockin' with Billy Corgan, Flea & Electric Six!

Which bands give you the biggest pump while exercising? TheArnoldFans spoke with several musicians recently since we all like to rock out to boost our cardio levels and release our inner Schwarzenegger rock star. Not only do some of these rockers tell me what exercises they do to get a good pump, I'm also nominating the band Electric Six, as this year's winner of 2015's Best Gym Tunes! But first up, let's hear from Flea, bassist of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donny Osmond and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins.

TheArnoldFans: When you're not on tour, what do you do to stay in shape? Do you lift and do you have any real-life fitness icons who motivate you?

Flea:  "Well, I always like to keep my body moving and functioning well. Right now I'm training for a marathon, I run marathons, thank you. And I really find a lot of peace and a remarkable sense of self when I'm running long distances. I like to run in mountain trails, alone or with my dog, for long periods of time, and right now I'm getting so much joy from that and my body really loves it.  In terms of athletes that i admire, there are so many. I love athletics as much as I love literature or art or music or a variety of academic things. But I'd have to say my favorite athlete of all time is Magic Johnson. I really admired him for his remarkable skills and all his work to get himself as good as what he did, and also his ability to uplift all the people around him."

TheArnoldFans: Hi Donny, thank you for the great work-out anthem: "Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan. What are your favorite work-out songs and how do you stay in shape? What exercises do you do?

Donny Osmond: It's all about the core these days, rather than just building muscles. As far as the songs are concerned, there's a great album called THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE, by me. Haha! And Bruno Mars' UPTOWN FUNK is a great song to work out to.

TheArnoldFans: Hi Billy, I saw you attend the premier of Batman & Robin since you had a song in the film, Is there one new film you wish the band could be in?

Billy Corgan: "Every film!"

TheArnoldFans: What was the best and worst part about being on the Howard Stern Show?

Billy Corgan: "There's no worst with Howard. He's the best in the business. A fantastic and incisive interviewer. And the best thing is he loves music."

Finally, let me introduce you to the winner of  2015's Best Gym Tunes: Electric Six! This rock band from Detroit, Michigan infuses elements of "Garage, disco, punk rock, new wave, and metal.  TheArnoldFans interviewed singer Dick Valentine and guitarist Da Ve. Get a sense of their powerful gym-pumping tunes by clicking on any one of the music videos below!

TheArnoldFans:
Your music was featured on "The Simpsons" one time. Is there one particular project, film or TV series you are most proud of or honored to be attached to?

Electric Six: Being on "Top of the Pops" in the UK, I mean, that's a legendary show, so to be on that, I mean, we were on that twice, so that's pretty amazing that this happened. We've had a lot domestic things like that. We had a lot more television exposure in Europe, that kind of thing, but out here in the States, it was a really big deal.

TheArnoldFans: Some of your earlier themes were "Fire," "War," "Dance," so what are kind of the themes will be in your upcoming release?

Electric Six: Oh, geez! I don't wanna give away the title. Yeah, I don't know, um. Casino themed, which is not a give away because, yeah, because of rock, casino money, conflict, Christmas.

TheArnoldFans: I was out there with the crowd and there was a good mix of younger people, older, people with tattoos. I was like curious, what are some of the best Electric Six tattoos, or in general, the best fan appreciation you've seen? What do they do to show you their fandom?

Electric Six: Oh yeah, that's always the best. I don't have any tattoos or that type of thing, but I love that. We're very much norm-core people. We have a lot going on inside, but outside, we look like this. It's fun when people have nine-thousand colors in their hair and it's interesting that these people are basically looking to someone like their uncle for someone to give them some sort of direction, but it's fun.

TheArnoldFans: Cool, now let's talk Arnold!  I am from the Arnold site...

Electric Six (Da Ve): That's what we were waiting for! I DO get up in the morning and think about Arnold Schwarzenegger. For the longest time, I was under the impression that "Commando" was the greatest movie ever made, until I saw "Crank 2: High Voltage."

TheArnoldFans: Basically, it's the same kind of "Commando" over-the-top action.

Da Ve: Yeah, just get the plot out of the fuckin' way. Start kicking some ass! Yeah, I can speak for a couple members of the band, definitely are fans of Arnold's career. One of the greatest moments for me, we were in a hotel and our old base player started watching "Predator." He was just in his PJs and he was like "this movie has given us two Governors. If you stop and think about American politics now, it's like one-twentyfifth of our Governors were in this movie!

TheArnoldFans: My buddy Ken, the winner of last year's Electric Six Kickstarter thing, got to go up on stage and played the cowbells for you. He introduced me to you guys ten years ago. Do you figure crowd-sourcing is the way to go these days for the smaller, yet ballsy bands?

Electric Six: Yeah, I mean it's just the new age of doing things and you know, I've always said that whatever happens to the music industry, like a flat tax, the good and bad parts of it, so you have to be creative. You can't just sit there, bitch and moan about the fact that you get spoiled record advances and stuff, so Kickstarter's a way to take it into your own hands and, you know, you can't have the same mind set you had ten years ago. If ten years ago, someone would have told me we'd be on Kickstarter campaigns, I wouldn't have gone for it at all. Like it was stupid and selling out and all that, but that's the new normal.

TheArnoldFans: Have you heard of the band ArnoCorps?

Electric Six: ArnoCorps?

TheArnoldFans: They do Arnold songs and were very successful with Kickstarter. They tour a lot in the UK, and they are even a bigger deal over there. Was just curious as to if you guys feel like you have more of your fan base here in the states or more over there?

Electric Six: It's bigger over there. Not, like, massively bigger, but let's say we'll do The Independent (music venue in San Francisco) holds 500 people, then in London, we'll play to 800 people. So yeah, it's slightly bigger over there.

TheArnoldFans: I take it you're gonna be there for opening night of "Terminator: Genysis" then? Is that something you care about?

Electric Six: Yes. Trailers are great. We absolutely want to see that one. Personally - a huge Schwarzenegger fan.

We Infiltrate the Terminator Genisys Premiere After-Party!

If you didn't guess, we had a blast in LA last month. As if just being on the red carpet for the biggest Arnold film to come out in over a decade wasn't cool enough, we got to Periscope from Arnold's account, then walk with Arnold into the Kodak Theater, watch the film itself with the most enthusiastic crowd possible, and then waltz on over to the swanky after party! The action was happening across the street from the theater at the Roosevelt Hotel. We passed through a couple security checkpoints, saying "Sure, here is my invitation," and then we were in!

It was in the inner courtyard area where there's normally a pool, but it was covered with risers containing several private lounge areas for the big stars, like Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, and Jason Clarke. Arnold and his people had their own area off to the side which was even more private, but he was still pretty accessible to people walking up to schmooze and say how great the film was. Randy even got to compare rings with Arnold, and found that even his very cool endo skull ring was dwarfed by Arnold's massive one from AJT Jewelry.

The ambience was cool, with the red lights and smoke coming out of metal barrels giving a hip future apocalypse vibe. The food and drinks were of course high quality and in plentiful supply. Then there was the inexplicable wall of donuts forming an endoskull! I have no idea who came up with that, but nonetheless, everyone took pictures with it, so I guess it worked. A genuinely cool thing they had was if you went to the upper balcony, you could get your "mug shot" taken, just like in the movie, and they would then display them on monitors around the party throughout the night. Here are ours!

As we navigated the party floor, we bumped into many of Genisys' stars, other people who worked on the film, and a few other celebrities. There was actor Wayne Bastrup (yougn O'Brien), who was having a blast at his first premiere of this magnitude, and Brett Azar, the '84 T-800 body, recounting more tales of his fight with old Arnold and the infamous "sock" barely covering his junk.  We also had brief chats with Jai and Jason, who were both getting quite inebriated. I told Jai in my best Terminator voice "I require a selfie," and the resulting photo was memorable!

We spoke with both the director Alan Taylor and writer Patrick Lussier, who were both very appreciative of how much we enjoyed the film, given the kind of longtime Terminator and Arnold fans we were, and at least a little open to suggestions for future movies! And of course, it wouldn't be an event without saying hi to Arnold's crew, including son Christopher, friend/stuntman Dieter, the great Daniel Ketchell, and cigar/humidor maker Daniel Marshall. We even got to hang out with young Joseph Baena and his super-cool brother Roger for a bit- they were very friendly and Joseph has a promising future as he readies himself for college this year.

It was an fantastic night of mingling with both mega-stars and Hollywood newcomers, capping off a great weekend of Terminator and Arnold. In one word: excellent.

2. Who is “Numero Uno”?

Our contest for the soundtrack is open to fans worldwide. US winners will get free shipping but international winners will be responsible for shipping costs & import fees. Entrants must give us your full name, phone number and address: street address. EMAIL us your 2 answers and we will pick a winner! Good luck, Arnold fans!

Lorne Balfe was also nice enough to give us an interview for his work on Terminator Genisys!

TAFs: When did you become involved to write the score for Terminator Genisys and how did that happen?

Lorne: I got involved about 2 or 3 months ago. The normal process is people listen to your music, they like it, and they ask you to score their movie, and that is really how it happened. Sometimes you’re working on a film, like some of the animation I’m doing, for about a year and a half, and sometimes you start on a film and you’ve got a couple of weeks, so every project has a different point of view.

TAFs: What was your process to scoring T5 and the challenges?

Lorne: The biggest challenge is obviously that you’re now entering this big franchise, and it’s something we’re all big fans of and we live and breathe… I remember watching Terminator 2 for the first time as a child, and hearing that music and those famous “ba dum bum ba dums” that are known all over the world. I think sometimes when you work on a project, you start fresh with a clean page and come up with compositional ideas from scratch. But with this, thankfully the director Allen and David the producer were very keen on making sure we held onto the past and we did use the themes and even though we didn’t use them all of the time, it was there to represent the legacy of Terminator. The first thing you do when scoring a film, you watch the film, and you start seeing places where the famous theme can be used. You look at the bigger picture and not just use it all the time because then it just becomes nothingness. When I started on it, I remember quickly those emotions when I watched the first 2 or 3 Terminators. Even though this is not a sequel and not a prequel, it’s its own identity, but still Arnold is in it and it is a Terminator, so I wanted to make sure there was a nod to the past, but then move on to the future. There was a very industrial sound to Brad’s original scores, and I think also disturbing, because there were these alien sounds that were manipulated from being organic into something electronic, and we had to do that in certain spots but also it’s a different film. The whole relationship between Arnold and Sarah is far more developed, so they needed their own theme, and the same with Sarah and Kyle, and John Connor. The biggest thematically was the concept of fate and hope, so that was another theme to slowly get into the film throughout the whole journey for the characters.

TAFs: Would you like to do any future Terminator films if they keep going?

Lorne: Absolutely, that a ridiculous question, of course I would! I think Genisys is fantastic. The difficult thing is that when you are working on it you’re not seeing the finished film. A lot of the special effects aren’t finished, so the first time you see it really finished is when the film is released. When I was writing it there wasn’t much on screen apart from Arnold. It becomes a totally different world, and I think it’s wild, to be absolutely honest, to be part of this world. I’m very excited to see what will happen, there’s so many possibilities. I think the world did need Arnold to get back on screen in a film like this because he’s one of the few remaining big stars that have this kind of presence.

TAFs: Do you have any favorite Arnold movies or score to Arnold movies?

Lorne: I’m a sucker for the 80s, so the likes of Predator and Running Man, and I remember watching Commando… so vividly, loving those films. All those scenes from Total Recall and Running Man… he’s a true legend.

TAFs: Yeah, and with Predator, that has one of the great scores from Alan Silvestri that makes it really more than an action movie.

Lorne: I’ll never forget that music is still relevant now. When you’re working on films and there are temp scores, that music is still there in full use. It’s amazing because it shows you how timeless it is. (Conan the Barbarian) is another classic. It’s great when these memorable films have matching scores that stand forever.

You can hear more of this interview on epsode 31 of Arnold Radio News! Lorne’s role as a score producer on 2008′s The Dark Knight earned Lorne a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture. In 2009, Lorne was music producer and composer of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 video game, and score producer for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, which earned a 2010 Oscar nomination for Best Original Score. Only a year later, Lorne produced the score for Christopher Nolan’s Inception, which also earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score. Naturally, for us Arnold fans, we praise him best for his work on Terminator Genisys.

If you’re a fan of Lorne’s Terminator score like we are, follow him on his Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lornebalfemusic, or learn more about him at www.lornebalfe.com.

Schwarzenegger’s Terminator Genisys is BACK at #1 in the Box Office!

$

We knew Terminator Genisys would do very well in China but we didn’t expect it to do a phenomenal 27.4 million dollars there in just one day! It took three days to make that amount in the United States but the Chinese people care more about the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger and his great sci-fi action film than they care about American-loved dinosaurs. That’s right; Genisys even beat Jurassic World in China for their opening day releases!

Genisys also conquered Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation at the International box office but Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions can’t complain considering theses are both of their properties. 27.4 million makes it the 4th best opening day ever for a Hollywood movie in China, just behind Furious 7, The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Last week, Schwarzenegger attended the Terminator Genisys Chinese premiere followed by an appearance on The Voice and the promotion and love towards the fans paid off big time!

The international box office count is now at $264 million, making the worldwide total currently just over $353 million. For Terminator fans, this is excellent news as we’re guessing China may now contribute over 125 million to Schwarzenegger’s latest, bringing the final tally to a very likely 450-475 million.

We are told that China’s movie-goers are loving the film and very enthusiastic and entertained crowds are coming out of the theater wanting Terminator 6.  Reviews by real Terminator fans, Arnold fans, Fandango user reviews and even general movie audiences were all very favorable for Genisys so it’s a mystery why film critics didn’t connect with the film the way audiences did.

Paramount and Skydance slotted a second Terminator film for May 19th, 2017 (though we expect the date will change given that Star Wars VIII is now the very next week) and they’d be crazy not to move forward with a new one knowing how badass Arnold could be portrayed with his “upgrade” abilities for the sequel.  Not to mention, the film’s writer, Patrick Lussier, tells TheArnoldFans.com that Schwarzenegger will be BAD in a part of the sequel! The best Terminator is a BAD one. And Arnold is and will forever be bad to the bone!

Oh, and Paramount/Skydance, We loved this film but if you want American audiences back, two things: 1) Bad Arnold  2) Rated R! You won’t need to show too much in trailers to hook audiences knowing its rated R and there is BAD ARNOLD with upgrades!

Exclusive: Skydance Says Fans Can “Celebrate” As Terminator Crosses $400M!

$

Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting the last laugh as his Terminator Genisys film, once considered a flop, is now a worldwide blockbuster. While the film underperformed in America, making nearly 89.5 million, the power of the fans and our love for the Terminator films worldwide continues to conquer any naysayers. Globally, Terminator Genisys is a major force at the box office, which has now passed the 400 million dollar mark! It's also the second week in a row being #1 in the international Box Office!

Before the film was released in China, Genisys, with a budget of 155 million, reached 323.5 million worldwide. Now Arnold’s film stands at 409.5 million!

“We are thrilled that the Terminator franchise continues to appeal to fans around the globe and the near record-breaking opening of Terminator Genisys at the Chinese box office is certainly cause to celebrate,”  a Skydance Media spokesperson tells TheArnoldFans.

Skydance is very happy with this number and potential to reach up to 450 million, passing T3’s $433.371,112, making Terminator Genisys Schwarzenegger’s personal 2nd biggest hit in his movie career following T2. Another interesting fact is that Genisys is the first film ever to cross the $400 million mark without making $100M domestically.

In addition to story-confused critics and unfortunate trailer spoilers, the new PG-13 film rating also hurt the American box office. Interestingly enough, all of Arnold’s other top 10 movies are rated R.  While Genisys is doing very well in ticket sales, perhaps this shows the studios that this film would have probably done even better if it were rated R, as the majority of Arnold’s fanbase wants their action hardcore. Bring back the horror elements and the hard R rating of the original Terminator for T6 and I guarantee the studios that American audiences will be back!

So how about that Sequel? We think T6 and T7 will happen! Genisys (155M film budget) is on target to beat T3 (200M film budget / 433M worldwide), which made enough to move forward with two more films. It is possible Paramount and Skydance Studios may want to lower the T6 budget to 130M but this could be fine considering they already have many millions of dollars worth of digital computer graphics (vehicles, buildings, actors and endoskeletons) already invested towards the sequel which can easily be recycled. The majority of fans had a blast with this worldwide money-maker and having Genisys pass this 400 million mark brings us one step closer to Arnold’s T-800 return.

Unboxing Review: John Matrix Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys!

Let’s party, Arnold fans; The John Matrix sixth scale figure is finally shipping out now from Sideshow Collectibles! I just received my Commando, a one-man army, in the mail and he’s probably the greatest figure ever created by Hot Toys! The 12.5" John Matrix sixth scale figure, presented by Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys, is specially crafted based on the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando!

Here’s my review! From day one, I’ve been a big supporter and collector of the fantastic products by Hot Toys but this is by far their best product. Calling it a “figure” is really underselling it however as it is in no way a toy but rather a high-end museum-quality art piece. With a magnificent likeness, articulation and weaponry, I'm left with no other option than to give the most loving care and gallery-spotlight-attention within my Arnold man-cave.

Matrix features a newly developed head sculpt, bigger and far superior than that of the Hot Toys Dutch figure from Predator. See the Commando vs Dutch head comparisons below. Matrix also comes complete with war paint as well as a muscular upper body (somewhat spongy like flesh), a specially tailored outfit, and a large array of detailed weapons and accessories.

While suiting up my Commando figure, I was blown away by the tiny, yet functional, features such as the microscopic vest zipper that really works and the tiny metal hooks to fasten the back vest straps under the back of the legs up and over Matrix’s crotch. Itsy bitsy shotgun shells come in the package that you can put into the vest but I was too afraid to insert them in fear of dropping one and loosing it forever. This Matrix figure has so many small parts that I would not recommend it for anyone under age 14. After your Commando is complete, you can chose from many different weapons (including a rocket launcher) to put in his interchangeable hands and then put him on his stand, complete with the films logo. Finally, place your Matrix in a good spot amongst your collection and be proud of one of the best Arnold Schwarzenegger products ever created!

Now if only Hot Toys will next make a Turbo Man figure complete with Jetpack, boomerang, firing discs, the box of cereal, the comic book and interchangeable Arnold heads (masked and unmasked).

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Commando  fans should not miss the opportunity to own this heavily-armed collectible figure! If you plan on purchasing this Matrix figure, please buy from our official affiliate link and order it HERE!

Long before Donald Trump uttered the words, “You’re Fired,” on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, Arnold Schwarzenegger owned that one-liner in True Lies. Arnold not only made that catch-phrase cool, he also got to da choppa long before Trump on his now Terminated primetime series. In a huge shocker, Arnold, after conquering the international box-office with a whopping 440 million haul for Terminator Genisys, is yet again expanding his resume by preparing for television domination. Ready to step into Trump’s shoes, Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced he’ll be the new boss of The Celebrity Apprentice!

“I have always been a huge fan of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork,” Mr. Schwarzenegger said in a statement. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let’s get started!”
The most recent season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which ended in February, averaged 7.3 million viewers but with ARNOLD involved, we may see those numbers skyrocket to what they aired originally with in 2004 averaging nearly 21 million viewers an episode.

After the announcement, Mr. Trump tweeted his approval:

Then of course, Arnold himself made a perfect Facebook video:

Wow. I'm blown away and honored by all your messages. I can't wait to bring my experience to the board room & raise millions for charity.

Posted by Arnold Schwarzenegger on Monday, September 14, 2015

We are guessing that filming on Schwarzenegger’s part for ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ might only be twice a week and he should still have plenty of time to continue his movie career along the way. Arnold is next said to be starring in "The Legend of Conan" with Universal Pictures and likely to star in additional upcoming Terminator sequels.
